While ministry has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, some of my most meaningful moments happened away from the pulpit. I love spending time with my wife, Lynn, our daughters, their families, and our grandchildren. I believe they are my ministry. Whether it's a day on the beach, exploring new places, or simply enjoying time together, these are the moments that remind me of God's goodness. The outdoors has always been a place where I enjoy God's beautiful creation. No one can paint a sunset like Him. All of these things bring me a great sense of gratitude.

Long before I became an author, I was a husband, a dad, a grandfather, a pastor, and a man simply trying to follow God faithfully through every season of life. But some of the greatest lessons God has taught me didn't come from behind the pulpit. They came through marriage, through raising a family, through becoming G-Daddy to my grandchildren. They came through changing dreams and unexpected seasons. I have learned what it means to love someone faithfully when life doesn't turn out the way you planned. These seasons of life have taught me something profound: You don't have to understand everything that happens to trust the God who is walking through it with you. That's my heart and the heart behind Still Standing.
